My Personal Statement
My name is Katie Salmon, and I am submitting this as my personal statement as part of the entry process for Transition Year. I would hope that by the reader reading this, they will be satisfied and show that Transition year would be suitable for me.
My reasons for wanting to do Ty:
I would love to do transition year because I want to find out what I'd like to do in my career and give myself time to figure it out. I ant to do my Fainne exam and get the badge that symbolizes the Irish speaking in this school. I would like to take part in public speaking and learn how to read in front of a big crowd of people. Another reason is that I'd like to take part in the transition year show and have a role in it. I also want to get work experience and see what the working environment is like.
Aims for the year:
At the end of Transition Year, I would like to say that I've gained much more confidence and strength in myself, like social skills. I would also like to get more involved with the wider public and my school community. I would like to have gained my own responsibility like earning my own money and getting my own job.
Objectives for the year:
I think that I'm a very hard-working student and I love to try everything no matter what the project, task, activity or job it may be. I think that this kind of attitude is suitable for transition year.
I'm a diligent person and I love to perfect all my work that I do and hand in to teachers. As I was thinking about doing this year, my parents thought that I would get lazy and slack on all my work but after thinking it all out I wouldn't because I am definitely not that kind of a person. I take all my work seriously and I like to give 100% to everything. Overall I would be so happy to do transition year a I would try everything. And I assure you that I will work very hard.

- I would like to take part in public speaking and to build up my confidence and I would like to be on a debating team because I love taking on them kind of tasks.
- I want to find my suitable career that I'm interested in. I would like to find 2 good places for work experience and fulfill them to the right standard. I want to also find a part time job through the work experience places.
- And lastly I want to have fun as a year!
