On Tuesday, January 9th we had a talk with Anne Hall, a nutritionist. Anne laid out the basic principals of nutrition : the importance of a varied diet, a healthy breakfast, regular meals, our 5 a day and the new food pyramid.
Anne proceeded to outline the importance that certain foods had in our diet as teenagers, our dietary requirements , as well as what our body needs after an exercise session. She introduced many of us to the idea of portion control based off simply the size of the dinner plates we use and she told us that water should be drank everyday (2 liters).
overall, I enjoyed Anne Hall's talk on nutrition, however I already knew the main parts of it because I've done home economics in first year and I studied nutrition.
