Young SVP talk
On the 11th of October, Paddy Daly, worker for the Saint Vincent's De Paul, came in to talk to our Ty year.
He talked about his experiences of going abroad to help less of people like going to north Africa. He told us about the most common types of problems they encounter such as alcohol or drug addiction, loneliness, and homelessness. He told us the services that they offer to people and how they go to peoples houses to deliver goods and services instead of sending it which is a lot different than sending it in the post.
He engaged well with the audience by giving us all a sweet each and everyone that answered a question an SVP pen.
After that we asked him what we could do and he gave us ideas like setting up a group within the school and he told us that its also good for our CVS's and Gáisce.
I really enjoyed the speech because he got the point across and was more interesting than the trip to knock.
